Time Machine For The Big Bang

7-year-old: “how come when we blink we don’t even notice it?”
Me: “it’s kind of amazing, isn’t it? It’s just a reflex.”
7-year-old: “but who made it this way?”
Me: “it’s the way we evolved.”
7-year-old: “so since the Big Bang?”
Me: “not since then exactly, because lots of things had to happen before animals came.”
7-year-old: “the Big Bang doesn’t make any sense. How can there be something made out of nothing?”
Me: “yeah, it doesn’t make a ton of sense. But it’s the best explanation we have.”
7-year-old: “I’m going to build a time machine so I can go back and see if it really happened.”
Me: “that’s a great idea. But how will you build it?”
7-year-old: “I also could just order one from Amazon?”
Me: “do you think they have them?”
7-year-old: “maybe, but there’s a problem. A time machine is something and at the Big Bang there was nothing. So it would probably break.”
Me: “yeah, that wouldn’t be good.”
7-year-old: “so I have to order two from Amazon.”
