For over 100 years, as the chart shows, CO2 has been poking along with no noticeable change in the Rate of CO2 emissions by Decade.

However, beginning around 1860, the Rate of Growth started to change mostly Increasing.

This meant the Rate of CO2 Growth was Accelerating. We now have Exponential Growth as the Rate of Growth started to Grow, first at .5 ppm, then 1 ppm during the 1970’s, 1.5 ppm in the 1990’s, and 2. ppm in the 2000’s, reaching 2.5 ppm this past decade 2010 to 2019.

One Last point to consider: On just Four occasions has the Rate of Growth Decreased – the decades before a Century change (1890 -1899, and 1990 – 1999), and the Worldwar Decades (1910 – 1919, and 1940 – 1949).
